August Team 2016
At some time we all have to stand in front of our choices about how to move forward. Some doors must be closed and then we have to develop new and progressive challenges for ourselves.
For me this breakthrough arrived when I was 45. I realized that all of my previous choices had exhausted themselves and on this self-discovery period I found quite randomly, let's say by coincidence the DRH Lindersvold school website, I made my decision to join the 24-month program in just a couple of days, and here I am
I believe that my choice is beneficial not only for myself but also for many people around the world, I am here to learn how to help people in need from all over the world.
My name is Gertrud and I am 27 years old. I come from the Baltic States and more precisely from Estonia. Why I decided to join this program? First of all I liked that I had options to choose from – 18 or 24 months programmes.
Probably the main reason I started to look at these programmes was that it is mostly practical and also I can use my knowledge in AFRICA. There are a lot of reasons why to join, for example; to get new knowledge in a fun way, learn about other cultures, discover yourself and how well can you adapt with others, also I can say that these are the others reasons why I joined. In my opinion this experience will broaden my mind.
Hi! I’m Shoko from Japan. I’m 22 years old. I love to play sports and go travelling as a backpacker. I’ve been to 21 countries until now including Denmark. I graduated from university in Japan this year.
Many of my friends have got their new jobs in Japan, but I wanted to try new things in foreign countries and I found this school. I’ve not been here for a long time yet, but I think I’ve already learned many things. I want to get many experiences here and use them for people in the world who need help. Also I want to find what I want to do and I can do in the future.
Hi, My name is Eunjee. I'm from South Korea. I completed the whole course of B.A. in Education and have an interest in not only quantitative but also qualitative improvement in education for developing countries.
To learn about it, I worked as Education team’s intern with HoE, a Korea-based international NGO that focuses on teacher education. Not only that but I also taught art and Korean for teachers and students in Mongolia to do field experience for 5 months. It's all because I wondered whether I just want to be as a field worker or office worker, Despite such experiences, I felt it was not enough. I want to try something new like that and I have to get out of our comfort zone for self-development.
Therefore, I enrolled in this program this year. I expect a special experience because this programme is not in Korea, that's why I'm here. Above all, after the end of the programme, I hope that I’ll keep growing further than now by living, discussing and facing matters with people from other countries.
