Hello, my name is Giampaolo Grisoli.
I was born in 1969 in Italy. After being an officer for seven years in the Italian Army, I went back home, working as production responsible and logistic manager in my graphics industry. Because of the economic crisis hitting Italy during the first decade of 2000, I had to close my business and find new job opportunities. For two years I was doing almost everything to earn a living.I had enough of this I decided it was time to leave Italy and to cultivate a dream I had since I was a child: experiencing a long term volunteer program in Africa. After a long online search, I found the programs offered by One World Center in Denmark and I joined the 24 months DI Program “Fighting with the Poor + Pedagogy”. I experienced two amazing years as a Development Instructor including eight months at an educational project in Malawi, I decided to continue my experience and to become a teacher for DI Programs with the wish of giving more people the chance of fully experiencing an amazing program.
I arrived in summer as a workaway for three weeks to improve my English, and I fell in love with the school and especially its idea: To train people to work in humanitarian projects.
I came back, and now I work in promotion. I want everyone to know us especially the Spaniards. It is a great opportunity to contribute to change the world a little. It is worth spending some time on this adventure, which will enrich you personally and work.
I wait for you, contact me in my mail if you really are as crazy as us and want to change the world a little, and help those who have not had a chance to lead a life worthy.
Come to Africa with us.
Teacher in practice for the Climate Activist team
Life is an ongoing process of teaching and learning, and as a consequence thereof, I am a collection of experiences and interpretations.
And so are You.
Having met all kinds of people in my DNS teacher training program, I am even more inspired. My aim is to give my students tools to reach for the impossible and achieve the amazing.
In the context of climate activism, it means improving the capabilities that me and my students have, while working with many diverse people. Our planet is in a critical state. There is a need for people who are willing to address diverse issues, looking for solutions that would be both effective and realistic for a broad diversity of our planet's inhabitants.
As a teacher, I am together with my students as well as colleagues. In a different school, where we work together as a community - Another Kind of School if you may - we are learning together. I KNOW that have the potential to make a huge difference.
